So Sad
Last night Sami was up and down for a few hours. She has been trying to sneak into our bed at night and since I am 9 months pregnant and sleeping poorly already, she does not succeed very often. Anyways, last night she comes down and crawls into bed. I get her up, take her potty and go tuck her back into her own bed. I lie down with her for a few minutes and sing her a song, tell her she needs to go back to sleep and stay in her bed and off I go back downstairs. She cries for a few minutes and then gets quiet. A few minutes. later she is back in our room. I pick her up and take her back to her room and tell her I will have to close her gate on her door if she gets up again. We put a gate on her door that locks which scares the crap out of her if you shut it. Yes this sounds very mean, but just the treat of closing the gate usually keeps her in her bed and the few times I have had to shut it, I only shut it for a few minutes, then open it back up and tell her next time it will close until morning. Hopefully that will never happen because I am a big softy and I don't think I could actually follow through with it. Anyways, so I take her back to her room and tell her if she gets up before it is light outside again that her gate will be closed. A few minutes later she is back in my room. She says "Don't worry Mommy (through some serious tears). I just need to get some tissues to dry my tears." She picks up the tissue box from my nightstand and carries it to her room with her. She cried for a few minutes and then it got quiet. I went up to check on her and she was sound asleep with her tissue box next to her with several wadded up wet tissues scattered about. SO SAD!!! It is so hard to stay strong and not let her come into bed with us. I wouldn't have a problem with it if she actually went back to sleep when she comes into our room but she tosses and turns and talks and plays. Hopefully tonight she will sleep and we will have no tissue box stealing to wipe away her sad tears:(

More Outside Fun

I cannot wait for the weather to be nice all the time!! We have some serious Spring Fever going on at the Spiecker House. The kids are tired of all of their toys after being stuck inside all winter. Anyways, if the temperature is over 45 degrees we try to get out! Here are a few pics from our bike riding the other day.
